Description

Minnesota Catholic Conference (MCC), the public policy voice of the Catholic Church in Minnesota, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Public Policy Intern for Fall 2026. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the intersection of public policy, Catholic social teaching, and legislative advocacy.

Position Overview: Interns interested in connecting their faith with law and policy will assist MCC staff by providing research support on a broad array of issues and should have flexibility to assist with projects as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth policy research and analysis
  • Prepare memos, reports, and briefing documents for internal and external use
  • Support MCC’s advocacy work, including outreach and events
  • Attend occasional meetings at the Capitol or with coalition partners (as schedule allows)

Qualifications:

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student, or a recent college graduate
  • Strong writing, research, and communication skills
  • Interest in public policy, state government, and/or Catholic social teaching
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the Catholic Church

Details:

  • Duration: September – December 2026
  • Compensation: Unpaid; however, a stipend is available at the conclusion of the internship based on experience and performance
  • Academic Credit: MCC is happy to sign off on internship hours for college credit in coordination with your academic institution.
  • Location: In-person work preferred, based out of our St. Paul office
