Through advocacy, research, education, and public policy initiatives, we work to ensure dignity and protection for vulnerable elders.

Position Summary

The Associate Director will play a key leadership role in advancing the mission of Elder Voice Advocates. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Associate Director will support program development, policy advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and operational management. This role requires a passionate and strategic leader with experience in long-term care issues, nonprofit management, public policy, and elder rights advocacy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and implementing advocacy strategies to improve protections and rights for older adults in long-term care facilities.
  • Support policy initiatives, legislative outreach, and coalition-building efforts to advance elder rights.
  • Oversee and support program development, including community education, outreach, and research initiatives.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, including government agencies, legislators, advocacy groups, and community members.
  • Assist in fundraising, and financial planning to support the organization’s sustainability.
  • Represent Elder Voice Advocates at public events, hearings, and meetings.
  • Supervise volunteers, contractors, and interns to ensure the effective execution of organizational goals.
  • Manage internal operations, including administrative duties, and organizational reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Policy, RN, Social Work, Nonprofit Management, Law, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in advocacy, nonprofit leadership, or policy work, preferably in aging or disability rights.
  • Strong understanding of long-term care policies, elder protection laws, and legislative advocacy.
  • Experience in fundraising, grant writing, and nonprofit financial management.
  • Excellent public speaking, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and lead a team effectively.
  • Passion for social justice, elder rights, and public policy advocacy.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary is commensurate with experience.
