Description

Minnesota Catholic Conference (MCC), the public policy voice of the Catholic Church in Minnesota, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Public Policy Intern for Fall 2025. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the intersection of public policy, Catholic social teaching, and legislative advocacy.

Position Overview

The Public Policy Intern will primarily support the MCC policy team with research projects related to the state budget. The intern may also assist with other advocacy efforts, coalition work, or event planning as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth policy research and analysis
  • Prepare memos, reports, and briefing documents for internal and external use
  • Support MCC's advocacy work, including potential support for outreach and events
  • Attend occasional meetings at the Capitol or with coalition partners (as schedule allows)

Qualifications

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student, or a recent college graduate
  • Strong writing, research, and communication skills
  • Interest in public policy, state government, and/or Catholic social teaching
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the Catholic Church

Details

  • Duration: September to December 2025 (with potential to extend through Winter 2026)
  • Compensation: Unpaid; however, a stipend is available at the conclusion of the internship based on experience and performance
  • Academic Credit: MCC is happy to sign off on internship hours for college credit in coordination with your academic institution.
  • Location: Hybrid or in-person work available, based out of our office in St. Paul
