A law firm specializing in government relations located in St. Paul is seeking a Policy Analyst. Applicants must be able to analyze public policies, including state program funding formulas such as Local Government Aid, create new formulas, evaluate polices using statistical analysis, and present their analysis in a concise and understandable manner orally, graphically, and in writing. The applicant should be comfortable presenting and defending material in one-on-one settings with elected officials and in small and large group settings. Applicants would preferably have a familiarity with Minnesota’s state budgeting process, Minnesota’s property tax system, and Minnesota’s political landscape. This position requires an expertise in the use of Excel and a working knowledge of Access, Word, PowerPoint, and statistical computer modeling programs.

Position will include some in state travel, occasional irregular and evening hours, meetings with state legislators and state policy makers, and presenting to large group audiences.
