Description

Minnesota Catholic Conference (MCC), the public policy voice of the Catholic Church in Minnesota, invites law students to apply for a unique opportunity to connect their faith with legal practice during the 2026 legislative session.

Position Overview:

Law clerks will assist MCC staff with public policy and lobbying initiatives across a broad range of issues. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting legal and policy research
  • Drafting legal memoranda and educational materials
  • Supporting the development of policy resources
  • Gaining hands-on lobbying experience at the Minnesota State Capitol

Clerks should also be prepared to assist with additional projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Current law student or recent law school graduate
  • Strong writing, research, and communication skills
  • Interest in public policy, state government, and Catholic social teaching
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the Catholic Church

Details

  • Compensation: The position is unpaid, but a performance-based stipend may be provided at the conclusion of the clerkship.
  • Academic Credit: MCC is willing to coordinate with your institution to certify hours for internship credit.
  • Location: Hybrid or in-person, based at MCC’s office in St. Paul
