Our expertise ranges from legal representation and counsel to strategic communications and grassroots organizing. We have nearly one hundred years of collective advocacy experience. Our team advances important issues through proactive engagement and working across party lines.

Position Overview

Momentum Advocacy is seeking a full time Legislative Coordinator to join our team. In this fast paced roll you will interact with legislators, and nonprofit leaders on a variety of issues. The Legislative Coordinator will support the advocacy team by tracking legislation, monitoring hearings and press conferences, compiling reports, scheduling meetings, conducting research on policy and legislation, and providing administrative support. 

The ideal candidate is self-directed, able to manage numerous projects with minimal supervision, and prepared to work late hours or weekends as required by the legislative calendar. This is a temporary position that runs from December 2024 to May 2025. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Track legislation and policy developments

  • Monitor legislative hearings, press conferences, and relevant events

  • Prepare reports and summaries for the advocacy team and clients

  • Schedule and coordinate meetings with legislators and their staff

  • Conduct research on legislative and policy issues

  • Provide administrative support to the advocacy team



 

Minimum Qualifications

  • One to two years of experience in an administrative or government or legislative position

  • Ability to work evenings or weekends 

  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

  • Proficiency in Google Suite
