The Legislative Policy Analyst is a professional position that assists in advancing the City of Rochester's priorities by serving as a liaison to the State of Minnesota, the Federal Government and other governmental agencies. Under the direction of the Deputy City Administrator, this position supports all aspects of legislative affairs for the City. Duties include, but are not limited to: providing analysis of legislative proposals and recently enacted legislation affecting the delivery of local services by departments of the City of Rochester; helping develop policy positions and legislative language in support of the City's priorities; and conducting stakeholder outreach.

Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Social Science, Economics, Business Administration, or related field from an accredited four-year college AND five (5) years of full-time employment experience in policy analysis and legislative affairs.

OR

A Master's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Social Science, Economics, Business Administration and one (1) year of full-time employment experience in policy analysis and legislative affairs.

2019 starting annual salary $81,046 to $95,348, depending on qualifications, with advancement to $119,187.

Licenses and Certifications
Valid driver's license 

Special Requirement
Extensive travel is required.
